Denton County

The Joseph Fritscher family moved to Denton County, Texas in about 1892.  They were followed in 1894 by the Johann (John) Fritscher family.  The farms they built were described by their descendants as having "everything but a Post Office". The Fritschers and their extended families remained for many years in the  northern counties of Texas near the Oklahoma border - in Denton, Grayson and Cooke counties.  Select below for information on the areas where the Fritchers and many other Catholic families settled in Texas.
